Wikipedia

The video on social networking made a claim that Wikipedia is more reliable in its information than the encyclopedia. I'm not convinced that's true.

Wikipedia may be a good source when information is posted by a professional in the field or by someone who is knowledgeable about the topic. It may in some cases be more up-to-date on a current issue. Are there checks and balances on Wikipedia content as there would be for  submissions to an encyclopedia, for example?

Go ahead and use Wikipedia, but check facts against other credible sources. Encyclopedia are available in your local library as are many other resources.
