The Small Business Community Network Is Your Connection To The Small Biz Community

Are You Looking For Opportunities to Meet Entrepreneurs, Small Biz Owners, and Leaders in The Community?

If you look back over the past 7 - 10 years you will know if you have been active in the networking circles of Waterloo Region and surrounding areas that an awful lot of networking groups/clubs/initiatives have closed down. Some of these organizations just did not have the commitment to seek out the very people they wanted to help in the first place, or did not know how to market their organization in order to inform people who they were and what they offered.

I am often asked how easy it is to start a networking group and I am not shy in being honest and telling them that it is very easy to start anything. But, what you start you must continue, and be consistent and it is not easy in any sense of the word. Over the past 7 years DaveOJ, Melissa Stephens and I have worked diligently, consistently and with many other commitments taking up our time, to build the Small Business Community Network.

We started small, in a free facility, Zehrs Community Room, and did not have a goal to make money out of our networking group. We wanted, and still do to help others and offer affordable and friendly, educational networking opportunities. Eventually, with lots of hard work and building credibility for the SBCN, organizations started to notice us and the work we did and wanted to help us. The Waterloo Region Small Business Centre located in Kitchener City Hall was one of those very organizations. They sensed our strength in the small business community. They knew our commitment and consistency had paid off. The WRSBC joined as members at first and then they offered us their facility for our meetings. Their goal was to help us help the small biz community, but also to help themselves gain more exposure.

7 years on we now have a ever growing Membership, ongoing Guests attending our meetings and have offered every month, without fail, a seminar, b2n networking and much more. Our strength is in our consistency and our growth has stemmed from our open and honest quest to help others and to continue to offer even more benefits as needed.

So when you want to explore new networking initiatives why not attend one of our monthly meetings, we are your connection to the small business community. www.sbcncanada.org.
