i speak from my heart, not a script.
Being a 3 time cancer survivor does not mean I know how everyone else who is facing cancer feels.
What I do know is when I am on the stage sharing my story with the audience it gives them hope, and we all need hope.
When I was diagnosed the first time with breast cancer October 30th 1997 there did not appear to be much awareness out there. When people found out I had breast cancer they shared stories with me of women who had died. Let's be honest about this no one wants to know who died, we all want to know who survived.
I know everyone will not win their battle with cancer, but we can help others who may be diagnosed today, tomorrow, next week or next year. We can help them by raising awareness, I can help them by sharing my story.
Awareness, prevention and early detection helped me.
I am here if you want to email if you are going through a cancer challenge, or have a family member or friend who is. We all need to know there is someone there to support us.
