This will be my first article posted on SBCN....I hope you enjoy reading it. I will give you some back ground about me and how I came into a career in trucking. In 1994 I found myself in an unfourtunate situaiton, it was my first year out of high school and working full time.....exciting right? I soon found myself without a job and without direction. Thankfully my Aunt who had a connection at Challenger Motor Freight was willing to hire me on a temporary basis to file and archive paperwork. My job consisted of literllay standing in the back of a 48' trailer with a floor standing shop light filing paperwork into banker boxes, and then finding a singular paper in this trailer full of banker boxes when an office worker made the request....exciting right? At this point in my life I wasn't looking for exciting, I needed a pay cheque. I spent these days in the back of a 48' trailer wondering where my life was going. As time passed I could proudly say I was able to pin point any piece of paper in this trailer, it was then that I stopped wondering where my life was going and just went where it took me. Advancing within Challenger and taking on several roles gave me a great foundation and understanding of the workings and processes of running a business. Looking back now on days spent filing in the back of a cold/hot 48' trailer, it was this opportunity and circumstances that has lead me to be a proud business owner of a 3rd Party Transportaion Provider. 20 years later, I still keep in touch with the woman who gave me the opportunity to have a dream.
