Workshop gives artists and cultural industry entrepreneurs business information and training
KITCHENER – The Waterloo Region Small Business Centre is hosting a one-day workshop called Arts, Business, and Creativity…the ABC’s of Success on Saturday, April 19 at Kitchener City Hall from 9am to 5pm. Designed specifically for arts-based businesses, Arts, Business, Creativity will be an interactive learning experience where local artists and entrepreneurs in cultural industries will receive practical business information and training.Arts, Business, Creativity will include four seminar sessions geared towards members of the arts community.
Participants can choose from a variety of relevant seminar topics such as: intellectual property, liability, budgeting, marketing, business planning, grants, and proposals. There will also be a tradeshow and social reception where local arts-based businesses can showcase products and services and expand professional networks.
The target market for the workshop includes: emerging artists (artists who want to learn how to start and run an effective arts business), professional artists (artists who are already financially successful and want to grow their business), and creative industry entrepreneurs (graphic designers, fashion moguls, digital media producers, and culinary artists).
